We looked at reversible and irreversible changes. Students each designed and carried out experiments including step by step procedures and precise documentation involving various types of matter. We also discussed the properties of solids, liquids and gasses.
The 3.2 classroom became a vibrant learning laboratory filled with enthusiastic young scientists, all working both individually and with partners. Mr. O'Farrell visited us from the upper school science department to explain and demonstrate a change involving dirty water.
Our math activities have included estimating, calculating, and measuring "area" with tetrominos. Students presented and described their examples of how shapes like triangles and rectangles could be configured into the tetromino forms. Students continued to build upon concepts they recently practiced while working with perimeters.
Throughout all our studies and work activities, we were very excited during final preparations for Portfolio Day on November 9th. We are very anxious to share our knowledge and explain our work to our parents. See you soon!

I really had fun this week watching all of you do your experiments. They all showed interesting ways to change matter. Well done!
