Whew! What a week!
Students in 3.2 have been busy continuing to work on their autobiographies! Students wrote out their rough drafts this week, focusing on developing an introduction, writing about five important experiences in their lives, and a conclusion about how those experiences have made them who they are. After meeting with a partner for a peer check, students continued with the editing process, checking their COPS (Capitals, Omissions, Punctuation, and Spelling), and then typing their final draft.
With our first unit coming to an end, students were asked to think about how they would demonstrate their understanding of the unit. Students developed a checklist of what a "good" demonstration would look like. It included an explanation of the central idea, how they are unique, how their lives have changed, and how experiences in their lives have made them who they are today. Students then had to choose a creative way to show what they know. Suggestions included sharing their time line, their life map, a poster, or a PowerPoint presentation, among other things. Students will begin sharing their demonstrations next week.

Perhaps most exciting of all was the Student Council elections, which were held on Wednesday! We had five fine candidates; Marietta, Richard, Hana, Theo, and Malin. Each candidate shared a brief speech with their peers on Monday and prepared posters, which were displayed in the class. Congratulations to Hana and Malin, who were elected representatives for 3.2, as well as Theo, who was elected as alternate. Many thanks to all the candidates for their enthusiastic participation throughout this process!
